Public acceptance
The communication process represents a very important issue in achieving ANDR targets, being essential both in promoting the use of nuclear energy in peaceful applications and in obtaining the public acceptance in order to construct new nuclear objectives.
In nuclear field, the communication process is difficult, due to the theoretical complexity of the issue on the one hand and due to some myths installed in the public’s mentality on the other hand, myths, that lead to an excessive perception of the risk associated to nuclear activities.
In order to overcome these difficulties, the institution must implement a well-structured and efficient, robust communication strategy so that the public can get proper information to reduce public’s fears and concerns and to highlight the real and questionless benefits that the use of nuclear energy in peaceful applications can bring to the whole society.
